Dr. Gullingsrud is an experienced cataract and refractive surgeon, specializing in LASIK vision correction and deluxe cataract lens implantation. He also is performs Botox injections and eyelid surgery for Edina Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He has been a full partner in the practice since 1999.

Dr. Gullingsrud graduated as Class President and Valedictorian of Fargo South High School in North Dakota. He is a Charter Member of his high school Hall of Fame and an Honors graduate of Stanford University, which he attended on a National Merit Scholarship, and the University of Minnesota Medical School. He has been on the UM teaching faculty since 1990: his current title is Adjunct Assistant Professor. He regularly lectures to medical students, ophthalmology residents – from the UM and Mayo Medical Schools - and practicing ophthalmologists. He is also an Invited Lecturer for Eye Surgery Courses locally, nationally and internationally. He served as Ophthalmology Chairman of Fairview Southdale Hospital from 2000-2007, during which time he created the current Eye Care Surgery Center, one of the busiest in Minnesota.

Dr. Gullingsrud is also an active volunteer, including Special Olympics since 1991 and the Minneapolis Free Eye Clinic since 1996. He also provides complimentary eye care through the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Veterans Hospital for patients with diabetes, glaucoma and cataract. He is a Board Member of the Hawaiian Eye Foundation which sponsors an annual medical conference and volunteer missions throughout the Pacific.

Dr. Gullingsrud has won several awards, including the Prevention of Blindness Award by the Sight and Hearing Association and the Physician’s Recognition Award by the American Medical Association. He has been recognized as a Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine ‘Top Doc’ and one of ‘America’s Top Ophthalmologists.’

Dr. Gullingsrud is a Board Certified ophthalmologist on staff at Fairview Southdale and Ridges Hospitals. He also operates at the Laser Vision Center of Edina, Minnesota Valley Surgery Center, Phillips Eye Institute and other regional hospitals.

Dr. Gullingsrud is an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoys travel, golf, mountain biking and waterskiing in his free time. He is a PADI-certified Master Scuba Diver. He can be found at many Minnesota Vikings, Timberwolves and Wild games. He lives with his family in Eden Prairie. They are members of Prairie Lutheran Church and Olympic Hills Golf Club.
