What is a Trunk Show?

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, it comes from the fashion industry as designers introduced their new line to a select group of people in one community, unpacking their “trunk” and then moving onto the next town. In the optical world, it is very much the same. In fact, the uniqueness about a trunk show is that you get to see the entire line – upwards to 400 styles per designer whereas we may only carry 30-40 styles of each line every day. The brands that will be featured include: Alain Mikli, LA Eyeworks, and prodesign. The reps from these brands will be present to help with your selection. Sue, Edina’s lead optician is very excited about this event. She says, “Trunk or Treat is our first annual event of its kind. The atmosphere on the day of one of our trunk shows is so much fun! Everyone is having a great time shopping, laughing and, of course, eating! Due to the success of our first annual Sweatheart trunk show (last February), our patrons begged us to be sure we invited them to any future trunk shows saying, ‘I want to be there! It is so much fun!’.”
