Experience
Dr. Dewan grew up in Rochester, MN, and then moved to Boston to receive his undergraduate degree in Biology at 
theMassachusetts Institute of Technology. He returned to Minnesota to attend medical school at the University of Minnesota,and then completed his internship at Hennepin County Medical Center. His residency training in Ophthalmology was completed at the University of Minnesota, where he served as chief resident. He then completed a highly competitive and prestigious fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery in Albany, NY. This fellowship, sponsored by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, focuses Dr. Dewan’s practice on eyelid disorders, as well as tearing conditions, periocular trauma, and periocular tumors, including skin cancers. Additionally, Dr. Dewan offers full-service periocular cosmetic procedures, including eyelid lifts, brow and forehead lifts, lower eyelid surgery, and cosmetic injectables such as BOTOX and fillers.
Dr. Dewan has published several articles on eyelid disorders and periocular disease and has also authored multiple book chapters on eyelid surgery. He maintains an interest in medical education and has presented research at national meetings. He was awarded the Golden Apple for best teacher in the ophthalmology department at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Dewan is a board certified ophthalmologist, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
