I Love My New ReZoom Multifocal Lens
At age nine I started wearing glasses. I was the only person in the classroom with “four eyes”. That nickname stayed with me for years and I hated wearing my thick glasses. Finally, at age 32, I was fitted with contact lenses, what a difference! It was wonderful to be without glasses.
With advancing age and because I used the hard lenses, after 25 years, my eyes no longer produced the lubrication to make contacts comfortable. Once again, I had to switch back to glasses. I didn’t mind so much while I was still working in an office, but after retirement I again hated the glasses. Gardening and sewing are my favorite activities, they rank right after spending time with my children and grandchildren. Every time I spent any amount of time out in the sun, puttering with my flowers and plants, the glasses kept sliding down my nose. Sewing brought on other problems, even though I wore bifocals, each time I threaded the needle or had to do intricate stitching, the glasses had to come off so I could see to work. Invariably, the fabric I was sewing would push the glasses across my sewing table and onto the floor.
Edina Eye Physicians & Surgeons, cared for my eyes during my adult life. He noticed during an exam several years ago that I was developing cataracts in both eyes. I scheduled my 2008 exam with Dr. Marshall Everson also of Edina Eye. During the exam we discussed cataract surgery and the use of Multifocal IOL lens to improve my sight. After comparing the benefits of the three most widely used lens, I decided that ReZoom would be most beneficial to me. The cataract surgery was scheduled for December 23rd , 2008 and January 13, 2009. Both surgeries went off without a hitch and my vision improved immediately. The Physician’s explanations calmed all my fears during the pre-surgery exams, pre-op procedures and post op exams.
Now, with new multifocal lenses in each eye providing me with near perfect vision, I am able to sew without any problems. When the snow melts, I’ll be out in the gardens working without glasses and loving every minute. In fact, with the new vision, I expect my flowers to be more beautiful than ever before.
